The
Campaign for a Scottish Olympic and Paralympic
Team
“Olympism is a philosophy
of life, exalting and combining in a balanced
whole, the qualities of body, will and mind.
Blending Sport with culture and education, Olympism
seeks to create a way of life based on the joy
of effort, the educational value of good example
and respect for universal fundamental ethical
principles.” The Olympic Charter
C-ScoT has
been set up by ordinary Scottish sports fans
to ensure that the Olympic philosophy, can be
harnessed; to bring maximum and enduring benefit
to Scottish sport, Scotland’s people,
its culture and its health; using the forthcoming
focus on London’s hosting of the games
as a catalyst.
C-ScoT wholly
supports the Olympic ideal and the 2012 London
Olympics in particular.
This is a positive campaign
to maximise the impact these games can have
on the people of Scotland, while adding to the
celebration of sport that will take place in
2012.
C-ScoT is
a non-political organisation which welcome support
from any person, political party or organisation
with Scotland’s sporting interests at
heart.
According
to a representative survey carried out on behalf
of C-ScOT, 78% of Scots support the idea of
Scotland having its own team by the London Olympics
in 2012.
