A number of initiatives will be launched
over the coming months. Right now you can help
by:
Emailing the Campaign,
send an email to campaign@c-scot.org
and we will register your support, we will also
send you updates on the campaign progress.
Tell your friends,
spread the word about the C-ScOT Campaign, get
your friends to write to their representatives
and local newspapers. Email them to let them
know about the C-ScOT web-site and the C-ScOT
Blog.
A list of representatives in your area at different
levels of government is available at www.writetothem.com.
Enter your postcode, and a list of appropriate
contacts in your area will be returned.
We recommend that you include, in your own words,
some of the following points in any correspondence:
• 78% of Scots support
the creation of a Scottish Olympic Team prior
to the London Olympics in 2012
• There is no legal barrier to Scotland
having its own Olympic team
• The best Scottish Sportspeople in each
event will be able to compete
• Sport is a Devolved Issue. It has been
recognised that it requires Scottish solutions
• Scotland’s NOC could be created
from the current Commonwealth Games Council
• SportScotland is funded by the Scottish
Executive and the Lottery
• A Scottish Olympic Team will inspire
and motivate - helping to deliver "Sport
21" strategy
• Direct association with positive role
models will deliver tangible benefits to Scotland;s
health, and an enduring legacy of increased
participation in sports at all levels
• A Scottish Team will not affect London’s
hosting of 2012 Olympics
